Biography

Amir Faghri received a BS degree with highest honors from OSU Mechanical Engineering in 1973, and his MS and PhD degrees from the University of California-Berkeley in 1974 and 1976, respectively. He is currently Dean of Engineering at the University of Connecticut. He is the foremost authority in the area of convective heat transfer in heat pipes and is best known for his exceptional fundamental contributions to the understanding of multiphase heat transfer. He has authored two books as well as over 140 journal papers and 70 technical publications, and he holds six patents. Dr. Faghri was elected a Fellow of ASME in 1996.
